Bag dumping station

A bag dumping station is used for the manual emptying of sacks, bags, etc., while controlling the dust emissions that may occur during discharge. TEKFA supplies bag dumping stations and sack emptying units in a wide range of designs.

The most popular unit—especially among TEKFA’s customers in the food industry, as shown here—is characterised by:

  • Ease of cleaning – with an extended arm, a cloth can be guided all the way around the inside of the station
  • Support grid (bag rest grid)
  • Gas springs ensuring the door remains correctly positioned at all times
  • Door sensor allowing a signal to be given when the door is open/closed
  • Option: Surface roughness better than 0.8 µm
  • Option: Rounded edges to reduce product build-up
  • Easy integration of both vibrator and fluidisation nozzles, used to reactivate stagnant powder
  • Dust extraction: Can be automated so extraction is activated when the door opens. Note the simple principle for filter replacement
  • The unit can of course be equipped with load cells and connected to PLC / MES / SCADA
  • The unit shown is fitted with a level sensor in the bottom, providing a signal when the station is nearly empty
  • The station can also be equipped with a magnetic separator to capture ferrous contaminants
  • Discharge can be configured to a screw conveyor, rotary valve, vacuum valve, or other solutions
